Distract Me

A boat neck, light-weight pullover for the warmer days of the year. It can be used as a beach cover-up or as a nice top for going out on a summer's evening.

Knit with fingering weight sock yarn from the top down, beginning with the neck ribbing. Front and back panels are knit separately and joined at the underarms. The color work and waist shaping help to make the long stretches of body rounds almost fly by! Distract Me includes top-down set in sleeves. Sleeve stitches are picked up from the armhole, and short rows are worked to create the shoulder cap. The sleeves are elbow-length and are finished off with contrasting color. Contrast garter ribbing is added to the neckline to bring color to the top.

Gauge 24 stitches x 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch on size US 4 (3.5 mm) needles (or size needed for gauge). Achieving both stitch and row gauges are important for this pattern.
