Dorothy Helen baby blanket

My mum is in her late eighties and has knitted for as long as I can remember. She taught me to knit, for which I am very thankful. She cannot go a day without knitting predominantly blankets, hats and cardigans for the premature baby unit at a local hospital. This baby blanket is based on one of the designs she often uses; a simple garter stitch blanket knitted on the bias. Knit in a pure wool 4 ply, I’ve incorporated an eyelet pattern into the main body of the blanket, added a picot bind off edging making a relatively simple knit but with a vintage, heirloom feel.
