Dr Who scarf extra long

I made the first one of these for my daughter's partner as a Christmas present, which was a great success. One of her friends saw it on FB and asked me to make him one. I wondered if there were other fans out there who'd like to make one themselves. This is my first written pattern. I've just tried it out on my second scarf and it has worked well.

A simple pattern suitable for a beginner although you'll need perseverance if you're a slow knitter! The great thing is you can make this pattern as short or as long as you'd like. Full length is a good length for a 6 footer, or it can be wrapped around twice for a more chunky look for someone not so tall.

The chunky yarn I have used comes in a huge range of shades at a very reasonable price. It will knit up perfectly well in other yarns as the tension isn't too critical as the length is easily altered. Also it would be a great use of your stash. It's a simple knit for when you're watching TV & don't want to concentrate on a tricky pattern.
