This is a classic DK weight baby cardigan which is easy to make and even easier to wear!
Knitting up quickly in garter stitch with minimal ribbed edgings, this classic cardigan shape features a cosy double-breasted overlap and easy two button fastening with optional waist ties. Using a classic fuss-free construction, the back is worked without shaping to the shoulders and then joined to the fronts using a three needle bind-off and then the sleeves are picked-up using a simple formula as reference and knitted down to the cuffs, which are wide enough to fit mum’s hand when dressing the baby.
The elegant design features of this garment make it an easy to wear garment which will not swamp the baby or look try-hard, and the instructions have been written with beginner knitters in mind (although it’s a really fun knit for experienced knitters who will enjoy this modern take on a classic wardrobe staple!).
