Earthen Hat

Earthen Hat is named for the lovely autumn/fall, earthy colours which work so well together. The pattern is a combination of traditional Fair Isle motifs. ​ YARN: 8 ply/DK/light, 50gm balls of merino wool. In this pattern I have used Lang Merino 120 & Debbie Bliss Rialto DK. They are of slightly different gauges but has worked well together. Length of yarn is usually between 103 - 125 metres/112 - 137 yards per ball. ​ GAUGE: 22 stitches and 30 rows = 10cm/4 inches. Lang yarn is 22 sts and 32 rows. ​ COLOURS: 4 ​ SIZE: To fit a medium adults head 59cm - 61cm (23 - 24 inches). ​ SKILLS: Knit & purl stitches, knitting in the round, decreasing, catching floats, weaving, 2 stranded knitting, 3 stranded knitting for 1 round. Earthen Hat is a jogless hat in the round.
