Et par 1 (shawl)

“Et par” is the Danish words for “a pair”. This Shawl matches my design the “Et par 2 (Blanket)” for a matching shawl and blanket set for Mother and Baby or a matching shawl and lap blanket. Et Par 1 is a shawl that have longer ends that will drape gracefully around the shoulders and keeps in place without a pin.

The directions for the shawl includes two sizes – large shawl pictured. Width: 160 (245) centimeters and a length: 46 (63) centimeters after blocking.

The shawl is knitted in one piece starting at the top and ending with the bottom lace edge. The pattern is written for a knitter who is able to follow written instructions as well as follow a lace chart, work increase and decrease and knows how to work short rows.

This pattern calls for a yarn with a 27 stitch count per 10 centimeters gauge. i.e. a yardage of approximately 175-180 meters per 50 grams. Pictured in Drops Baby Merino.

The pattern does not include directions for the matching blanket, finished items yarn etc.
