This stitch pattern started as an abstract sketch, but once I knit it up, it looked to me like a lantern burning in an opening that resembled an eye. Child of the ’80s that I am, I immediately started singing the lyrics to the old Bangles song:
Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling. Do you feel my heart beating? Do you feel the same? Am I only dreaming? Is this burning an eternal flame?
