Filature is a lace shawl, knit in one piece from the center-top outward. With both charts and written instructions, knitters will be able to choose their most comfortable way to follow the pattern. It can be easily customized by changing the number of repeats of charts 2 and/or 3 as it is knit.
It was designed to show off handspun yarn but will be perfect with any worsted weight yarn that you would like to use. It also looks wonderful in both semi-solids and variegates.
Kim and Sharon from the Spin a Shawl group asked me to design a shawl for their Designer series S-KAL. I really love how awesome handspun looks knit up and I wanted to let the yarn shine so I went with a simple rib and lace pattern
