Yarn: 2 hanks of Knit Picks Hawthorne (80% Superwash Fine Highland Wool, 20% Polyamide; 357yds /320 m in 100g) or 650yds /585 m of other fingering weight yarn with estimate yardage 440 yds/400m in 100g. Needle: US5 (3.75mm) 24" or longer circular needle or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge 20 sts and 44 rows = 4" in Garter st, unblocked 18 sts and 36 rows = 4" in Garter st, lightly blocked Gauge is not important for this project but it affects finished size and amount of yarn needed.
