There are three patterns of increasing difficulty (I originally wrote a set of 12 designs which took a knitter from basic to advanced knitting techniques in short, easily-finished projects). Here you will go from a simple knit-and-purl lotus flower motif to lace-knitted leaves, to a "bamboo" design that involves several different cable and twist stitches.
Knit these in any natural and absorbent fiber: cotton/hemp, cotton/linen, linen, cotton, hemp yarn from DK to worsted - the finer yarns, especially hemp, linen or blends, produce a fabric very conducive to bathtime scrubbing and soap suds.
Pattern includes both line-by-line instructions as well as charts.
