Free the Fringe is a sideways knit shawl that is so simple, then adds a little funk at the end of your knitting with fringe! The technique I use is a self-fringing but I did add extra colors to my fringe.
YARN ~800-1,000 yards (~732-914 meters) of Fingering weight yarn
NEEDLES US 4 (3.5mm) / 32” (80cm needle) or longer
NOTIONS Tapestry needle
GAUGE 24 stitches by 21 garter bumps = 4 inches (10 cm) in garter
Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge if necessary!
SIZE 102" wide by 18" deep (259 cm wide by 46 cm deep) but easily customizable.
