Gartenparty shawl

This shawl reminds me of a fun garden party, with colorful bunting under old apple trees. You can put it on in the evening, when the lanterns start glowing and the crickets start chirring. It is a crescent garter sitch shawlette in fingering weight yarn with a colourful textured scallops, created by kniting in unusual material. It is knitted sideways, body and scallops together. Increases and decreases form the crescent shape, the scallops are shaped with short rows. A picture tutorial of kniting in the unconventional yarn you choose is provided. It is a great way of showcasing a special art or novelty yarn that might be too much on its own. You can go wild, with roving, strips of fabric and whatever you can think of.
