What’s this? This is Granny des Bois, a beautiful wintry set featuring the classic granny square.
Why should I make this? Featuring the classic granny square, this doubled cowl and hat set will become a winter staple.
When will this get the most use? Through the long, cold Québec winter.
Who is it for? Instructions are given for 2 sizes (cowl) and 3 sizes (hat), to fit children and adults.
Where do I start? This pattern is rated Easy - you’ll need to know or be eager to learn the basic crochet stitches and colour changing. You will need 300 g of worsted weight yarn (100 g of each of 3 colours) for the set and a 5 mm hook. Other notions: a pompom a yarn needle and 2 stitch markers. A 4.5 mm hook will be used at the hat’s last step.
