Designed for the apple of my eyes, inspired by the tiny dresses I once wore myself.
Green Apple is a dream design for every little girl, keeping her warm on chilly days while leaving her arms free to move.
The dress is worked top down, and knits up very fast and effortlessly. The patt include 2 lengths: dress and tunic. Detailed photo tutorials are included in the pattern for embroidery and sewn-on patch pocket.
With the grow-up-with-me fit in mind, there are buttons at both shoulders (at the front) allowing adjustments for any growth-spurts and may be worn for many years to come. Firstly as a dress, and as a tunic later on.
There are 3 bodice options to choose from:
- no buttons at the back
- buttons at the back bodice
- buttons at the whole back length
Skill level: The pattern is detailed enough to be adventurous beginner friendly, and at the some time interesting enough to capture attention of more advanced knitter as well.
Tips for size 3-6m:
- buttons at the whole back length: optimal buttonhole spacing on the skirt is 9 garter ridges, the last buttonhole will be placed just before the hem
- choose flat buttons (if applicable) as babies spend most of the time on their backs
