Hale'iwa was always one of my fave towns on Oahu, and I was always seeing woven bags shaped like this in all the little gift shops and I really liked them. Sadly, I don't weave, so I had to create my own crocheted versions!
I've included variations for both a small and wide handle, a 2-color bag and a 3-color bag. Plus, It can be easily personalized with an infinite number of embellishments! I find that it makes an excellent canvas for my collection of crocheted motifs like hearts, stars and flowers...
The bag pattern itself is very beginner friendly! However, the rope trim is a bit more intermediate. So, for those beginners looking for a bit of a challenge, I've included a PHOTO TUTORIAL for the trim along with the written pattern!
