This pattern is for quick to knit novelty mittens featuring 3D baby hedgehogs. The mittens are worked flat, on single point needles, using less than 50g DK acrylic yarn (largest size). The hedgehogs are worked separately & stitched onto the finished mittens. I have embellished my mittens with tiny leaf buttons & used small beads for the eyes. Alternatively, if you are knitting for a younger child & wish to omit the buttons & beads, you could work the first two rows above the ribbing in a darker colour to represent the ground & embroider French knots for the eyes. The hedgehogs are worked in a simple 4 row stitch pattern which is explained row by row, with explanatory photos.
Pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter.
