This doily/motif measures 8" in diameter if the yarn, gauge and instructions are followed precisely.
This however is a GENERIC pattern that can be extended to make a bigger piece or make smaller ones varying the yarn and hook sizes to make Placemats, Coasters, or motifs to join with a regular Granny Hex.
Gauge is not necessary as this can be worked with any yarn and hook size. The final size varies with the materials used.
