This holiday, make this unique 'Hyggelig Hat' Whenever I think of designing winter things, the cables pattern is the first thing that comes to my mind. Hyggelig simply means taking pleasure from the presence of gentle, comforting and soothing things; a feeling of friendship, warmth, peace and contentment in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere.
The word “Hyggelig” is a Danish & Norwegian word. This hat is inspired by my “Hyggelig Cowl” pattern. I designed this hat keeping in mind the comfort that warm clothing brings for people staying in the cold climate.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Suggested Yarn: You will need about 260-270 yards of Aran weight/ 10 ply (8 wpi) yarn.
I used: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Solids, Heathers & Twists(80% Acrylic, 20% Wool; 197 yds(180 m)/3 oz [85 g]; CYCA #4): #107 Blue Heather, 2 balls.
Finished Size: Circumference: 22-24 inches wide. Length: 8.5 inches.
