The first in the Cardigans of the Galaxy * series, this cozy cardi lets you wrap yourself up in the character Groot.
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top-down in a heavy worsted/light aran yarn, and features a tree-like cable panel (both charted and written out) on the back with smaller cables along the v-neck front that mimic the look of branches. The set-in sleeves are worked after the bodice is complete by picking up stitches all around the armscye and shaping the cap with short rows. The cardi is seamless except for the patch pockets which are worked separately, and sewn on later.
The fit is a relaxed grandpa-style, intended to be worn with 1-3” of positive ease. Note that the yarn used in this pattern is not available on Loveknitting, but a heavy worsted (such as Tosh Vintage) or light Aran yarn can be substituted. 1500(1675, 1915, 2115, 2285, 2455, 2570) yards of heavy worsted/light aran weight yarn is required
