This hat is fast, chunky fun! Knitting in the round allows the use of 10 stitch, every 5 row cables without the confusion of cabling wrong side rows. The large, cabled braids create a delicious texture and a warm, cozy feel. The ribbing transitions smoothly to the braiding, which continues throughout the crown, giving a tapering effect.
Very Stretchy; fits most adults.
Yarn: DK weight.
Yardage: 130 yards (119 m).
Shown in: Carlton Yarns Merino Supreme, color 22. 100% extra fine merino superwash. 135 yds (124 m) per 50g skein. This pattern only took me one skein, but I only had 5 yards left. Cautious knitters may like to buy a second skein, just in case.
Needles: US size 6 (4.0 mm) 16 in (40.5 cm) circular needle, set of US size 6 (4.0 mm) dpns.
Notions: cable needle, locking stitch marker, tapestry needle.
