This pattern was initially designed for baby size in 3 different yarn weights. It was designed as part of a designer spotlight.
I wanted to add more options to offer matching sets (mommy & me, daddy & me, sibling sets, etc) and add another weight. This makes it more available to make all sizes, more yarn options, and makes it easier to have as a market make pattern. Thus this pattern is written for 4 different yarn weights and 5 sizes in each weight.
The pattern is an easy repeat and does not require cable needles to achieve the look. With stretch built in, this hat fits a baby's head longer, making it last through more of the season for babies and multiple seasons for older children.
