The original design was for my son, who has a lot of hair! So the size is medium to large. As decreasing stitches for a smaller size will not work because of the pattern, I suggest using a smaller needle if this hat is going to be for someone with a smaller head (or not a lot of hair!).
** FINISHED MEASUREMENTS** 21” around brim, unstretched – there is a lot of stretch in this hat!
