Kim's Learn-to-Knit Hat

A wearable, giftable, easy-learn hat!

Yes, Kim learned to knit with this hat. In fact, I've taught dozens of people to knit using this basic structure. (Kim is knitting sweaters and shawls now, but she has made more hats from this design than any other person as I write this. It's Kim in that first picture, too!)

This is a flexible design for learning new skills. Make a few choices and change the whole look! With a wide band of garter/textured stitch, it looks like a cloche. With a short section of the texture, you get a more beanie-like look.

More flexibility: Instructions included for DK weight, Worsted weight and Aran weight yarns (5.5, 5.0, or 4.5 st/inch).

Shorten for a beanie. Add a pom pom, nib or knot at the top if you like. Includes instructions for three sizes of yarn and head sizes from infant to adult XL. It’s a great project for new knitters.
