I have always loved the look of a knotted baby hat but after trying a few out I just couldn’t find perfect pattern! I wanted a half double crochet (half treble crochet UK) pattern and I wanted it to be simple. I decided to embark upon creating my own so...here it is! This pattern is perfect for an advanced beginner; it uses half double crochet (half treble crochet UK) stitches, single crochet (double crochet UK) and the magic ring to begin. This projects works up beautifully in Stylecraft Special double knit yarn however any double knit yarn would do. I like Stylecraft Special as it is lovely and soft for baby’s little head. A 3.5mm hook is recommended, however if you have a tendency to make your stitches tight then you could use a 4mm hook.
