This is a very easy basic knitting pattern which is great for a beginner. Also a great knitting project for a movie night! I called it a poncho sweater because it is oversized & boxy. You can make it any width you choose but I do give a suggested guide for sizes 6 months to XXL. If you are looking to make matching mommy & me sweaters this is perfect. It is knitted from the bottom up with no increasing or decreasing made throughout the pattern. The poncho sweater is knit flat in 2 identical pieces (front & back) and then sewed together. Stitches that are used in the pattern are: k2tog, SKP & yo. This is only written directions (no chart).
MATERIALS: - Medium weight yarn. - Premier Anti Pilling Everyday Worsted in Cappucino used in the picture. - Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles.
GAUGE 17 sts = 4 inches in garter stitch
