Leizu

“Leizu” was inspired by a ready-to-wear sweater seen in an online shop. While that sweater was a simple two-color brioche pullover, I wanted to design something similar, but without the heaviness of brioche fabric, something with the look of brioche, but actually much lighter. Gorgeous Julie Asselin Leizu DK seemed just the right material to achieve this!

“Leizu” is knit top down and seamless featuring neckline and bottom back shaping with short rows. The sweater uses two colors, starting with the contrasting color. The entire body and raglan sleeves are worked with main color in stockinette with wide ribbed panels at the sides. The contrasting color is added in again after body and sleeves have been completed to work both torso and sleeve ribbing with two colors. It is not brioche, but actually corrugated ribbing!
