PATTERN DETAILS: This is a knitting pattern in English for a long-sleeved pullover and matching hat using a fair isle/stranded technique. The sweater and hat fit an 18-inch doll similar to American Girl® dolls. The sweater has a colorwork stranded design around the yoke and corrugated ribbing for hem, cuffs and hat band. The sweater has a placket opening with buttonholes at the neck which can be worn at the front or back. Using seamless, top-down construction, the sweater is knit flat back and forth with both knit and purl rows until the plackets are joined, then the sweater is knit in the round. The sleeves are placed on scrap yarn to complete the body. The sleeve stitches are transferred back to the needles and stitches are picked up from the underarm. The sleeves are knit in the round using either double pointed needles or magic loop technique on circular needles. The hat is knitted in the round from the brim to the top in a colorwork design and finished off with a pompom.
