• DESCRIPTION:
This stitch creates a softly textured fabric with a dainty, feminine look. The fans are cradled by single crochets. It would be great for a Mother’s Day gift, a birthday gift, or a house warming gift. Simple and quick, it works up easily.
• GAUGE & SIZING: Gauge (tension) isn’t very important in this project. For reference, my gauge is 3 shells and 10 rows per 4”. Play around with hook sizes until you find one that makes a fabric you like. This pattern is written to produce a washcloth that is roughly 8.5 inches by 8 inches.
• ABBREVIATIONS & STITCHES USED: ch = chain st = stitch SC = single crochet DC = double crochet * * = Repeat what is in asterisks the indicated number of times
• MATERIALS: About 65 yards of any #4 cotton or cotton blend. Sample made in I Love This Cotton in Curry A 4.0 mm (F) hook Tapestry needle for weaving in ends Stitch markers if desired.
