Lobster Claws are the perfect texting mittens for those of us who walk around with a cell phone in our hands, They’re designed so that the tips of our thumbs and index fingers are free, while our remaining fingers snuggle warmly together. Select from several designs — fully covered digits with little fingertip openings, or shorter finger versions which always leave fingertips ready to call or text.
The pattern is written for the Magic Loop technique of circular knitting, with instructions for diving the stitch in half. Complete left and right mitten charts are included for knitters familiar with double pointed needles who wish to divide the stitches further.
The mittens will fit hand circumferences ranging from 6"/Small to 8.5"/X-Large, based on your yarn and gauge. One 3.5 oz/100g skein is sufficient for any size. The samples were knit with a gauge of 18 sts = 4"/10cm, resulting in a Medium/Large size pair suitable for most women.
