This is my own design knitting pattern for a Panda made with chunky / bulky / worsted weight knitting wool. He measures approx 38cm in his sitting position and is a great size for a big hug.
I have made him in Robin Chunky wool but he can be made in any chunky weight wool on size 4.5 to 5.5mm (US 7 to 9 ) needles. I used 250g of this wool but you may need slightly more in other makes of wool.
Or why not try him in a double knit wool on size 4mm needles for a smaller sized Panda
