Beginning with a provisional cast on, work four sections of varying layouts of a simple pretty lace repeat then finish with a little stocking stitch before picking up your provisional cast on and joining it all together with a lovely smooth kitchener stitch. Once you’ve blocked it you will love wearing this gorgeous cowl, named after Mr Roost’s super clever knitting and spinning late Auntie Maggie. Wear it loose, tuck it into your jacket, add a brooch or shawl pin, or wrap it twice for extra coziness. So versatile!
Supplies - 100g of 4ply yarn - 4mm (US 6) knitting needles - Crochet hook for provisional cast on - Waste yarn for provisional cast on - Darning needle - Stitch markers (optional)
Gauge 23 sts x 34 rows = 10x10cm/4x4” in stocking stitch after washing and blocking.
Finished size 22cm wide x 47cm long after washing and blocking.
