Magic Hour is a simple lace shawl, pleasing to knit and a joy to wear. Its contemporary asymmetric shape wraps around the body easily. On completion of the main body of the shawl tassels are made from the remaining yarn and then drawn through the cast-on stitches and knotted in place.
The sample is knit with two strands of Susan Crawford Vintage Melissa lace weight yarn, a luxurious blend of baby Alpaca, silk and cashmere.
Magic Hour is both the title of a favourite song of mine and also the name given to one of my most loved times of day, when the sun begins its slow descent to the far away horizon and the earth basks in its golden glow.
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions, so the knitter can use their preferred approach. This pattern is perfect for beginner lace knitters or knitters looking for a relaxing, easy shawl to knit.
