So check your stash for sportweight yarns, combine as you like and start knitting! I have knitted this kind of pants for years for all the babies and kids I know, and my kids literally lived in them. If you use non-superwash wool (for sensitive skin, use Merino), they never really get dirty: they just need the occasional wash.
