Manhattan, Mixed Drink #1

This is the first in my Mixed Drink Series, where two designers work with the same element and see what happens! This pattern includes instructions for both Manhattans.
Manhattan plays with slouchy lace hat designs, both knit from the same light fingering yarn. However, the motif, the shape and the feel of each hat is a bit different from the other. Mine is rounder, detailed at the crown, and uses a classic rib and open motif. The hat from my guest designer, Amy, has deeper ribbing, a taller shape and uses an unusual cable cross and lace combination. Plus I went for deep red and Amy for Spicy Brown!
Yardage is high, as yarn is held doubled. If you wanted to sub a DK yarn, you could easily knit with half the quantity. But make sure you check your gauge.
Mine is pictured in Foxfire Cormo Alpaca Lace in Amaryllis and Amy's is in Foxfire Cormo Camel Silk in Bittersweet. Alternative yarns are suggested, amounts given are for one hat.
