Cowls and loops are just wonderful: You sling them around and you’re ready to go! I really like how roomy and warm they are, so I made Matchmaker. Its very special triangular shape makes it versatile and warm in the right places. Entirely in garter stitch, it is a mindless pleasure to knit. I called this one “Matchmaker" because you can choose your two favorite colorways and marry them to this comfy, squishy, oversized cowl.
The design is such that there are no spooky techniques involved (like provisional cast-ons, short rows or the like), and there is no joining in the round where you might accidentally twist something. Just straightforward knitting and a few increases and decreases - very suitable for beginners!
The samples shown were knit in Wollmeise Pure, shades Xaverl with So long, Kitty, and Vincent with Sail the 7 Seas, and Wollmeise Merino DK shades Dunkle Kirsche and Tutu Dark. Substitute yarns are recommended below.
