A romantic, feminine sweater inspired by the character "Elise McKenna" from the movie *Somewhere In Time. *This lovely sweater invokes the style of the early 1900's while remaining thoroughly modern.
McKenna features a lower body knit in a deep lace pattern, with a simple texture pattern for the bodice. A flattering sweetheart neckline finishes the bodice. The look is completed with short sleeves featuring the same stitch patterns as the body.
Knit from the bottom up, the bodice is split at the armholes to work the front and back separately. After joining the shoulders with the 3-needle bind off technique, the sleeves sts are picked up around the armholes and knit down, ending with the lace border. An easy short row technique is used to form the sleeve caps.
