Both the “organic symmetry” found in nature, as well as the decorative shaping used in Art Nouveau architecture inspired the form for this Shawl. The obviously related parts of a whole are celebrated in their individuality, without having them follow any rules for perfect symmetry. Each section completes and complements the next to produce a balanced “whole”, where 3 colours and 2 yarn bases render proportion in varying and almost unexpected positioning and repetitions.
Because of this sequential construction, there are rarely long rows worked at a time. The idea here is to play with structures, which are introduced and re-introduced in the form of new colours and textures and following nontraditional shaping and an organic approach to geometric forms.
Different textures and colour-placements create here the dynamic details that still provide a surprising harmony in the final accessory.
