This top begins with a provisional CO about 1”/ 2.5cm below the waistline. The body is worked in the round to the armholes, then the Front and Back are divided and worked separately back and forth. Purl i-cord is worked at the edges, sometimes as you go and sometimes added on. The ruffled lace hem is worked down from the provisional CO sts. A purl i-cord laced through the shoulder and back neck hems pulls it all together, and decorative buttons may be added to the faux button band.
