To get the best of both worlds I adapted my Let’s Mesh Around cowl into a slouchy sock-weight hat. The stockinette and eyelet stitch pattern set on an angle will give you a meditative knit with a bit of interest. It’s a fun, and simple knit that shows off whatever yarn you might choose. Enjoy!
