The 2 stitch patterns used in this design also feature in my Little Acorns Blanket & Mighty OakShrug designs. The pattern includes instructions for 2 sizes - plus guidelines for a 3rd, super sized version.
Size 2 - MEASUREMENTS:
Cast On to Bind Off Length: 214cm/ 84’’ Wing Span: 262cm/103’’ Depth at widest point: 53cm/ 21’’ Bind Off Edge/Length: 122cm/ 48’’
Suitable for an advanced beginner, the techniques you will use include the working of eyelets, shaping on both sides of the shawl, & the working of temporary increases which are later resolved as decreases. (All fully explained in the pattern). There is also an Icelandic Bind Off used, for which a link is included.
This design is reversible, in that the ‘wrong’ side depicts a rather lovely, but more subtle textured appearance, that can easily be worn in it’s own right - effectively giving you a 2 for 1 design.
