Mitred Square Baby Boots 016

These baby boots are worked in one piece using six mitred squares and two triangles. There are no seams to sew. The squares and triangles are picked up from those around them. The cuff is worked in the round. The different sizes are made by using three different thicknesses of yarn.

Finished Sizes - Size 1 using sock yarn - foot is 9cm (3½in) long and 5cm (2in) deep. Size 2 using 4ply yarn - foot is 12.5cm (5in) long and 6.5cm (2½in) deep. Size 3 using DK yarn- foot is 15cm (6in) long and 7.5cm (3in) deep.

Yarn - Use any type of yarn, commercial or handspun, that matches the stitch tension stated below. Use a yarn that shows stitches clearly; the squares are joined by picking up stitches. Variegated, multi-coloured, or hand painted yarns will emphasise the different directions of knitting. Solid colours will emphasise the texture.
