Mittelweg Shawl

The Mittelweg ("Middle Way") is a north-south long-distance path which takes its visitors through one of the most spectacular natural scenes in Germany, the Black Forest. The hiking trail goes through thick dark-green woodlands of the forest, past age-old farmlands and iridescent lakes. Along the path, one often comes across intriguing man-made sights, including rustic chapels, medieval castle ruins and gorgeous half-timbered villages.

This heart-shaped shawl is worked top-down back and forth on a circular needle to make room for all the stitches and combines a deep garter stitch section with a lovely lace edging.

The shawl is shaped by regular increases along both wings and the central spine.

The lace is reversible. Please note that the lace pattern is charted only.
