Pattern is easy to follow, with clear row-by-row instructions along with lots of photos, and it’s a great introduction to both knitting texture AND simple colour working. You’ll need to be able to knit, purl, cast on and off, and increase and decrease to make these cats. All the pieces are knitted flat on straight knitting needles so NO knitting in the round is needed.

To knit your cats you will need some inexpensive double knitting yarns of your choice in various colours, 3mm knitting needles, a darning needle and some toy stuffing.
