In my opinion the best knitting projects are those that require little or no shaping or seaming. This jacket definitely ticks both of those boxes. There is no shaping whatsoever and the seaming is minimal. Another great thing about this jacket is that you can make it longer or shorter by working the second 2x2 rib when you get to your desired length.
You can wear it open or close it up and accessories with a shawl pin or brooch. The backless element is also a unique touch and will have heads turning.
The original yarn used was Rowan Cashsoft DK, which has since been discontinued, you can substitute for a yarn which achieves the gauge. The pattern requires approx. 1064m/1164yds of DK yarn for the S/M and 1408m/1539yds of DK yarn for the M/L.
