Inspired by the natural geometric shapes of crystals, these Multifaceted Mittens feature an all-over stranded design that wraps around the hand. The pointed top and thumb echo the shapes of the colourwork gems.
Two options are included for the cuffs: longer ones to tuck snugly into your sleeves, and shorter wrist-length cuffs. A fingerless version will soon be available separately as Multifaceted Mitts.
Skills needed include stranded knitting, working a small circumference in the round, working from charts, and picking up stitches. Choose your favourite jewel tone, add a lighter contrast colour, and knit your own pair of crystal gauntlets.
For short cuffs you will need: 106yds/97m MC, 130yds/119m CC. For long cuffs: 123yds/112.5m MC, 150yds/137m CC.
To fit women’s medium hands, with palm circumference 7.5-8”/19-20.3cm. Suggestions for altering the length are included in the pattern.
