Mystical Fantasy Mosaic Square - Garden Gnome

This pattern is for a mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

This project uses quite a few colors of yarn, but you could also try using 2 colors for more of a silhouette look.

The background takes approximately 1-1.5 oz of yarn, and the other colors are between .5-1 oz, although the face color takes just a few yards. The total weight of this is around 4 oz, using aran/worsted medium weight yarn.

The facial details are done with French knots once the square is finished, as are the mushroom spots. The gills are just straight stitches sewn on.
