I designed this elegant evening scarf to be the finishing touch to a special summer evening outfit. I love the geometry, clean lines and architecture of the Art Deco period, especially as found in the buildings of New York and I aimed to include aspects of these in my design, through the use of both beads and lace. To enable both ends of the scarf to be the same, it is worked in two halves and grafted in the middle with Kitchener stitch. New York Nights was first published in the UK magazine Knit Now in July 2012 - it was my first publication and featured on the cover of the magazine!
