Now here’s the thing, is the Niffler a whole new animal or a very clever Echidna with an incurable urge to collect and own anything shiny??
Sitting 7 inches high, this little chap was knitted flat on 3mm needles using standard acrylic DK yarn and brushed up with a teasing brush - yes you can ‘fluff’ up acrylic yarns – the proof is in the pictures :o)
If you wish, he can be knitted in DK without the `fluffing up’ or knitted using a black Mohair yarn that knits to 11 wpi which is a normal DK width.
Meant more for display than a toy due to the small parts, The Niffler must rank among the most endearing of all the Fantastic Creatures.
The pattern is clearly and simply written with step by step instruction, plus, many photos to help you along the way. There are no complicated stitches used in this pattern and minimum shaping.
