Novel Idea Shawl

This is a book shaped shawl with rounded edges. I was inspired by my love of reading and all things bookish to make a book with laced patterned designs coming from between the pages. It is knit from the spine of the book out. There are 7 pages fanned out, 8 lace panels between the pages, and a cover for the edges. The edges are rounded by slipping the first 3 and last 3 stitches on the wrong side. This makes the right-side edges curl to meet the non-slipped stitches to form an I-cord edge. Included are charted instructions and written instructions so you have the choice of your preference. This pattern also includes an additional “epilogue” chart to expand the size if desired. Enjoy!
