Oriole

Oriole is a seamless, top-down cardigan that can be worn open or closed with a shawl pin. Business or casual, Oriole is suitable for many different occasions.

The yoke is worked from the top using a combination of a contiguous-sleeve and a round yoke methods. The body includes subtle waist shaping. After the body of the cardigan is fnished, the lace border is picked up along the entire neck edge and worked with a larger needle. To avoid the lace from curling on itself, a knit lining is knitted and turned toward the inside to provide structure. The sleeves are also knit from the top. The shoulder cap of each sleeve is shaped via short rows (no wrapping necessary!), then the sleeves are knit in the round down to the cuffs.
